Administrators get the Management Console: every record, every filter, every export. Everyone else gets the Employee Portal, which shows a person the four things that are actually theirs — a training item to acknowledge, a handover to accept, a request awaiting a decision, an asset to return.
They are separate licences because they are separate jobs. A workspace with 5 Console users and 500 Portal users costs the same whether those 500 people sign in daily or twice a year.

Built so the record survives the argument
Most of this software is bought after something went wrong. It is designed for that day.
Evidence, not assertions
Acknowledgements are insert-only and name the exact content version the person saw. Republish a policy and the previous acknowledgements stay attached to the previous text, because that is what the person actually agreed to.
Handovers that close
Holiday, shift and role handovers carry owners, deadlines and action items, and the items stay open until someone accepts them. Offboarding drives the same machinery, so "revoke system access" is a tracked item rather than a hope.
Authorization the browser cannot talk around
Every request is evaluated from tenant membership, account state, session, licence, role, permission mode, scoped grants, installed module, record relationship and location. The browser interface is not treated as a security boundary.
Scoped to how you are organised
Departments, teams, cost centres and locations are first-class. A regional administrator sees their locations; a delegated HR admin gets a grant scoped to their department, and nothing outside it.
Deadlines that find you
Renewals, cancellation windows, warranty expiries, review dates and training due dates all raise the same reminders into the same shared inbox, addressed to the person who owns the record.

Global search spans every installed module and respects the same permissions the pages do. A command palette gets you there without a mouse.
Compliance that is actually collectable
Publish a policy or a course, assign it to a dynamic audience — a department, a team, a location, a role — and watch the completion rate rather than chasing a spreadsheet. Quizzes are graded on the server, so a score is a fact about the answers rather than a number the browser sent.
Every acknowledgement records who, when, and against which version. When an auditor asks what the staff were told in March, the answer is a query.
